Test of English as a Foreign Language
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is an internationally recognized English proficiency test administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). It primarily evaluates the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of non-native English speakers in academic settings.
TOEFL scores are widely used for university admissions, scholarship applications, and professional certifications in English-speaking countries such as the United States, Canada, and the UK. The test is offered in two formats: online (TOEFL iBT) and paper-based (TOEFL PBT).

Registration Preparation
Candidates must register on the official ETS website, select a suitable test date and location, and pay the exam fee. A valid ID (usually a passport) is required during registration. Before the exam, candidates should prepare thoroughly using official practice materials, mock tests, or preparation courses, focusing on the four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
On the Exam Day
Candidates should arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes early for identity verification, which includes ID checks and photo capture. Personal belongings must be stored in a designated area and are not allowed in the exam room. The test is conducted on a computer and proceeds in the following order: Reading (54–72 minutes), Listening (41–57 minutes), followed by a 10-minute break, then Speaking (17 minutes), and Writing (50 minutes).
Result Release Next Steps
After the exam, candidates can check their scores online approximately six days later, including section scores and the total score. They can send their scores to universities or institutions through the ETS system. If candidates are dissatisfied with their results, they have the option to retake the test to improve their scores.
As you prepare for the TOEFL exam, remember that this journey is not just about a test—it’s about unlocking the potential within you and paving the way to a future filled with endless possibilities. Each word you learn, every essay you write, and every sentence you speak brings you one step closer to your dreams.
